Pioneer, Pettitt win inaugural Showdown

The inaugural Ta Ha Zouka Showdown was held in Norfolk on May 11 with Pioneer Auto (Sioux City) and Pettitt Plumbing (Norfolk) earning the Tier I and II titles.


Pioneer Auto went 5-0 overall, defeating Leth's Tree Service (N. Loup) in the Tier I championship game, while Pettitt Plumbing went 5-1 overall, taking down Koo-Laid Mafia (Hastings) for the Tier II crown.

Sixteen teams entered the tournament from across the state with Pioneer Auto, Omaha's Finest (Omaha), Jake's Bar (Norfolk) and Leth's Tree Service each winning their respective pools. Those four teams advanced to Tier I while the next eight competed in Tier II and the last four dropped down to Tier III.

In their Tier III consolation bracket, a combined team from Lone Tree Elite (Central City) and Stueby's Alibi (Grand Island) defeated EnvyUs (Grand Island) for the title.
